Being Neutral Means Not Revealing Your Weakness Or Strength
You should never display your weaknesses, and also never show that you are tough. It is always best to stay neutral.
Let people perceive you as neither weak nor strong, unless you have a strategic reason.
When you show you are weak, people may take advantage of you. If you show you are tough people may want to compete or challenge you.
What does it mean to be neutral?
A neutral person observes, remains quiet, and blends in.
Like in The Art Of War, being neutral is strategic.

Do Not Aim To Be No. 1, Do This Instead...
To be a winner or No. 1, you do not focus to be a winner. You should focus on factors that will make you the winner.
Thats how you aim to be No. 1. Focus on the right goal. Focus on what you can control.
Do not aim to be number one or to win, as you cannot control the outcome. Your goal should be to focus on gaining an advantage over your competition in order to win.
